Welcome to CLEARS Central Chapter

Thank you for visiting the Central Chapter site.  What an exciting year this has been so far!  I am so pleased to see new, returning, and prospective members at our meetings.  We have had increased attendance at each meeting and it is due to the commitment and dedication of the Central Chapter’s members to fulfill our goals to strengthen our membership, provide meaningful training, and offer a welcoming and supportive environment to all who attend our meetings and trainings.

Central Chapter area includes:
Stanislaus, Tuolumne, Mono, Merced, Mariposa, Madera,
Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Kern counties

With over 300 miles from the northern to southern tips, our area includes some of the most beautiful terrain in California.  Here, you’ll find the Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, Sierra Nevada Mountains, Mammoth Lakes, the mighty Kern River, and the Tehachapi windmills (just to name of few of our attractions).  And, I would be remiss if I did not mention the agriculture.  Of California’s top ten agricultural counties, five are in our area, producing dairy, beef, poultry, almonds, grapes, carrots and citrus.

We have excellent training scheduled this year that includes trainers from DOJ, DMV, and other experts on the topics of Public Records Act, supervising, and subpoenas.  Please take a look at our training calendar and contact the Central Chapter Training Chairperson, Lisa Davis (ldavis@ci.visalia.ca.us) if you are interested in attending training, have a request for training, or would like to host a meeting in your area.  Our meetings have usually been held in the Fresno or Tulare area, but in response to members in the northern counties of our chapter, we are trying to move north for a few meetings this year.

Aside from networking, CLEARS membership has many benefits.  Monthly training, legislative updates, the message board, CPR magazine, and the annual seminar.  If you would like additional information on membership, please contact the Central Chapter Membership Chairperson, Kelly Cote (KCote@ci.visalia.ca.us).

Please visit our website for regular updates and news.  If you are a member and would like to post something on the website, please contact the Central Chapter Website Chair, Darla Gilbert (Darla.Gilbert@fresno.gov).

I look forward to seeing you soon at a meeting!  Please feel free to contact me with any feedback or questions regarding the CLEARS Central Chapter (mroark@bakersfieldpd.us).

Sincerely,
Melissa Roark
